The Blackheath Motor Inn is just a short stroll from town where you will find Blackheath's many fabulous (and some famous) restaurants, cafes and antiques shops.

We are central to the many Blue Mountain tourist attractions and so an ideal base to explore the mountains.

Local Attractions:

Blackheath and the Wild Blue Yonder Just a few minutes drive in any direction from the Motor Inn you'll find great expanses of the Blue mountains. Stand on top escarpments and gaze for kilometres into the wild wilderness of the World Heritage National Park

  • Breathtaking bushwalks, ranging from easy half hour walks to full day walks. The Grand Canyon and Porter's Pass are two of the more popular ones.

  • Visit Mt Wilson, known for its amazing English-style gardens, many of which are open to the public, and the nearby Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens

  • Either drive or take a coach to Jenolan Caves; about 40 minutes from the motel

  • Megalong Valley, just a 15 minute drive, takes you through lush rainforest to many horse riding opportunities or walking along the Six Foot Track. You may be lucky enough to sight kangaroos or other native animals.

  • Learn to abseil or, if you're feeling really adventurous, have a go at canyoning

  • Take a short drive to Katoomba and visit Echo Point, the home of the famous 3 Sisters, ride the scenic railway, the steepest railway in the world, and try the new Sceniscender, a cable car which descends into the Jamieson Valley

  • View movies on The Edge, the big screen cinema at Katoomba.

  • Go off-road on a 4WD tour

  • Tour the sights of Katoomba on a Harley Davidson

  • Step back in time and have a ride on the Zig Zag railway, at Lithgow, about 20 minutes west of Blackheath

    • Getting There:

    Catch the Blue Mountains train to Blackheath, we are 150 metres from the Railway Station.

    Traveling by car from Sydney follow the M4 motor way onto the Great Western Hwy to Blackheath. Continue past the traffic lights at Govett's Leap Road, we are 300 metres, on your right.

    Traveling by car from Mudgee or Bathurst, continue on the Great Western Highway through Lithgow to Mt Victoria. Continue to Blackheath, we are just past Sturt Street on your left.
