When travelling from Sydney to Central NSW via the Great Western Highway through the Blue Mountains, or the Hawkesbury Valley via Bells Line of Road, you will stop or pass through the Lithgow Region. The City of Lithgow with its towns and villages takes in an area of approximately 3500 square kilometres and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and diverse landscape in Australia.
